🍳 Caprese Salad Recipe

A fresh, colorful Italian salad made with ripe tomatoes, creamy mozzarella, and fragrant basil — drizzled with olive oil and balsamic vinegar. Simple, healthy, and bursting with flavor!


🍽 Ingredients (Serves 2–4):

  • 3 medium ripe tomatoes (or cherry tomatoes), sliced
  • 8 oz (200g) fresh mozzarella cheese, sliced or cubed
  • A handful of fresh basil leaves
  • 2–3 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon balsamic vinegar (or to taste)
  • Salt, to taste
  • Freshly ground black pepper

🥗 Instructions:

1. Prepare the Ingredients

  • Wash and slice the tomatoes.
  • Cut the mozzarella into slices or cubes.
  • Rinse the basil leaves and pat them dry.

2. Arrange the Salad

  • On a serving plate or platter, alternate slices of tomato and mozzarella.
  • Tuck fresh basil leaves between the slices or scatter them on top.

3. Drizzle with Dressing

  • Drizzle olive oil evenly over the salad.
  • Add balsamic vinegar.
  • Season lightly with salt and freshly ground black pepper.

4. Serve Chilled or at Room Temperature

  • Let it sit for 10 minutes before serving to allow the flavors to blend.
  • Serve as a refreshing side dish or light lunch.

Tips:

  • For extra flavor, add a drizzle of balsamic glaze or sprinkle some red onion slices.
  • Use buffalo mozzarella for a creamier, more authentic taste.
  • Try adding avocado or olives for a twist.
