🥪 Tuna Melt Recipe
A classic comfort sandwich made with a creamy tuna salad topped with cheese and toasted to golden, melty perfection. Quick, easy, and totally delicious!
🍽 Ingredients (Serves 1):
1 (5 oz / 140g) can tuna, drained
2 tablespoons mayonnaise
1 teaspoon Dijon mustard or relish (optional)
Salt and black pepper, to taste
2 slices of bread (white, sourdough, or whole wheat)
1–2 slices of cheddar or American cheese
🍳 Instructions:
- Mix the Tuna Salad
In a small bowl, combine the drained tuna, mayonnaise, mustard or relish, salt, and pepper.
Mix well until fully combined. - Assemble the Sandwich
Spread the tuna mixture evenly on one slice of bread.
Top with cheese slices, then place the second slice of bread on top. - Toast the Sandwich
Option 1 – On a Pan / Griddle:
Heat a skillet over medium-low heat. Butter the outside of both slices of bread. Cook for 2–3 minutes per side until golden and the cheese is melted.
Option 2 – Using a Toaster Oven or Air Fryer:
Place the sandwich in the toaster oven or air fryer at 350°F (175°C) for about 5–7 minutes, until the bread is crispy and the cheese is bubbly. - Serve & Enjoy
Cut the sandwich in half and serve warm with chips, pickles, or a simple salad.
